Thanks to changes in state law Sheriff’s Sales can now be posted on the internet instead of in local newspapers. The Oregon State Sheriff’s Association has created a web page for Sheriff’s Offices throughout the state to list their sales. The hope is that the internet postings will bring in more bidders. While Sheriff’s Sales and foreclosures are at all-time highs, the number of bidders have declined to all-time lows.
The site, www.oregonsheriffssales.org, lists sales for every county in the state in one location. Posting sales on the site is at the discretion of the creditor, so not every sale may be found there if the creditor prefers to use a local newspaper to publish a sale.
